ICORN GUEST Writers Celebrate World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day is coming up this Sunday, and is celebrated one day early in Uppsala, as ICORN Guest Writer Anisur Rahman (Bangladesh) and former Guest Writer Faraj Bayrakdar (Syria) take part in an event dedicated to words, and to encounters between poets and audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The following day, Rahman and ICORN Guest Writer Zurab Rtveliashvili (Georgia) join a large group of colleagues to celebrate poetry and the free word in Stockholm. This event is co-organised by Shahrazad - stories for life .

"Threatened Words" in Stockholm

Georgian poet and performance artist Zurab Rtveliashvili meets writer Carola Hansson to discuss the theme of exile, at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, 24th February at 7 pm. Exile is a reality lived by Rtveliashvili, while Hansson treats the theme in her latest novel "Med et namn som mitt" ("With a name like mine").

ICORN Writers at the Gothenburg Book Fair

Carlos Aguilera (Cuba), Zurab Rtveliashvili (Georgia) and Horacio Castellanos Moya (El Salvador) are all making appearances at the upcoming Book Fair.

 

Folktales in eleven languages to be shared at Stockholm Kulturfestival

The Shahrazad partners in Stockholm have now added the first part of their fall programme to our calendar, starting off with a full week of folk tales from near and far that will be shared in the Storyteller Tent during Stockholm Kulturfestival, August 11-16.
