Bronze refugees on their way to Stavanger

This Friday the M/S Anton refugee ship will arrive in Stavanger, Norway, carrying over 70 bronze refugees made by the Danish sculptor Jens Galschiøt. The aim of the floating art installation is to highlight our moral duties towards people born into immense poverty.

On M/S Anton's arrival Friday 4th May, the leader of the local government’s department for culture and sport, Sissel Knutsen Hegdal, will welcome the ship, alongside a performance by local musician Svein Tang Wa. The ship will be open to the public on Saturday 5th May.

Open Port? is initiated by Shahrazad, Sølvberget and UN Association Rogaland, in collaboration with The Danish Society for a Living Sea, Museum Stavanger and KIA.

Further information about the ship’s journey can be found here (in Danish).
