Carlos Aguilera

The Frankfurt guest writer Carlos Aguilera who arrived in Frankfurt in August 2007 and had been living in a rented apartment in the city centre (an apartment provided by the city of Frankfurt) will be moving to a new apartment near the shores of the main river dividing Frankfurt. The historic complex where the guest writer will be residing as from the end of September is called Frankensteiner Hof and has been a building accommodating visiting merchants for centuries. It had been the idea of the city's cultural department for many years to convert the building into not only a public service utility (now housing the citizens' advice bureau), but also as a building for a few artist-in-residence apartments. One of these apartments will be a permanent one for a guest writer residing in Frankfurt under the ICORN program of cities of refuge with which Frankfurt has been involved for many years. The decision to refurbish the apartments in the historic Frankensteiner Hof is not only showing the city's commitment for the arts, but also for the program >Frankfurt as a city of refuge.
