We are happy to present an unexpected outcome of our creative writing workshops in Frankfurt: The participants of the Spanish groups decided to continue their teamwork and founded their own circle of writers: Dámaso y los demás.
The young writers discovered the advantages of working in a group, writing and discussing new texts: They are surrounded by friends and other writers and thus able to professionalize their writing. Among other things they are working on a book of texts concerning the "bicentenario" (200 years of independence of various Latin American countries from Spain).
On the 20th of February the aspiring writers from Peru, Argentina and Spain organized a "literary evening" and presented some of their texts. Most of them were written during the Shaharazad workshops, but there were also some new texts to be discovered, even a short part of a novel. The evening was very versatile and the audience enjoyed it very much - we are looking forward to the next reading!

Wir freuen uns über einen unerwarteten Erfolg unserer Shahrazad-Schreibwerkstätten 2009: Aus den zwei spanischsprachigen Gruppen (vom Mai/ Juni und Oktober/ November) bildete sich ein eigenständiger Kreis von Nachwuchsschriftstellern spanischer Muttersprache: Dámaso y los demás.
Die Workshopteilnehmer hatten das Bedürfnis, gemeinsam weiter an ihren Texten zu arbeiten und durch den Austausch untereinander aber auch mit anderen Schriftstellern das eigene Schreiben weiterzuentwickeln. Darüber hinaus arbeiten die Teilnehmer, die u.a. aus Peru, Argentinien und Spanien kommen, gemeinsam an einer Publikation zum „bicentenario" (200 Jahre Unabhängigkeit mehrerer lateinamerikanischer Länder von Spanien), weitere gemeinsame Projekte werden folgen.
Am 20. Februar lud die Autorengruppe zu einem literarischen Abend in Frankfurt ein, bei dem sowohl Texte aus den Werkstätten als auch Auszüge aus später entstandenen Werken vorgetragen wurden - ein sehr abwechslungsreicher Leseabend, der hoffentlich bald wiederholt wird!
