If Europe is not getting a proper political constitution, at least give it a poetic one! Under this motto 52 poets from all over Europe have written The European Constitution in verse. In this lengthy poem enthusiasm goes hand in hand with a critical sense and the requisite seriousness with satire and slapstick. The Constitution was presented at the Passa Porta Festival in Brussels last year. Following a tour of various European cities, the founders of the Constitution, better known as the Brussels Poets Collective, have once again descended on the capital. They are in good company, with poets from Friesland, Algeria, Spain and Zimbabwe. The Brussels PolyFolies choir will provide a musical note with an alternative European Hymn.
