Nada Yousif, current guest writer in Molde, Norway

is a poet, journalist and teacher from
Iraq. Her writing centers mainly on women's rights
issues and the current socio-political situation in
Iraq. She worked for the Al-Hadbaa Journal and
Al-Masar Journal. Yousif's writing attracted
persecution and death threats which forced her to
flee her home country. Yousif is currently the ICORN
guest writer in the city of Molde. She has
participated in several cultural events, as the
Fourth Mosul Poetry Festival for Youth in 2001, the
Second Festival for Creativeness 2002, the Cultural
Meeting for Young Poets in Mosul 2004, Poetry
Festival of Brotherhood in Kirkuk 2004, the Cultural
Meeting in Mosul University 2005, the Norwegian
festival of international literature, the Bjornsen
Festival in Molde, Norway 2007, Frankfurt Book Fair,
Germany 2007, International Literature Week in Volda,
Norway 2007 and the 85th Anniversary of the founding
of the Catalan PEN, Barcelona, in 2007. Nada Yousif
is a member of Iraqi Teachers Union and General Union
of Iraqi Writers and journalists/Nenavah.
