Wednesday 2 June at 18.30, "Silenced Voices - Rescued Voices", an exhibition for the right to freedom of expression, for freedom of the word and creativity, will be officially opened at Nasjonalbiblioteket in Oslo.
The exhibition is showing emblematic cases of persecution and murder; persons who have become symbols for freedom of expression but also current cases of persecution and harassment. The centre of the exhibition are portraits of authors who have found refuge in various cities of Europe.
The exhibition was prepared for the cultural festival Kosmòpolis in Barcelona (in a Catalan version), and has been shown at the Gotenborg Book Fair and in the International Centre of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2008.
Easterine Kire Iralu, one of the authors featured in the exhibition, will read from her new book.
