Successful "Strangers and Canaries" Workshops

The week of Strangers and Canaries workshops creative writing workshops in schools across Norfolk was a real success. Workshop leaders Gervais Kouloungou, Molly Naylor, Sarah Bower and Asmeron had a great week with young people.

Here's a poem by one of the students written during the workshops:

What is Home?

What is home?

Home is where I live,

My house,

I don't have a house.

What is home?

My nationality,

The country on my passport,

I don't have a passport.

What is home?

The place where I feel safe,

A sanctuary,

I am not safe.

What is home?

My belongings,

The things I have grown up with,

I have no belongings.

What is home?

My family and friends,

The people who protect me,

I have no family, no friends.

Do I have a home?
